Vintage Marcel Breuer Art Deco Brass Table Lamp, Paris 1925

A striking architectural table lamp designed by Marcel Breuer for the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris. The fair—where the rich and famous rubbed shoulders with royalty—was considered the event to be seen, and is often cited as a pivotal moment in which international Modernism and Art Deco were thought to be born. Crafted from nickel-plated brass with Breuer’s signature minimalist geometry, the lamp features engraved detailing and a stamped Exposition mark. Every element holds its line with quiet precision—an object of light, and a document of its time. The Lamp is a vintage piece and of course has developed a celebrated level of patina over time.
