Vintage Jumo Chrome Table Lamp Selected by Charlotte Perriand, France, 1960’s, 1960s

An iconic example of French modernist lighting, produced by Jumo in the 1960s and notably used by Charlotte Perriand in several of her architectural and interior projects. This model perfectly reflects the functionalist principles Perriand championed throughout her career: clarity of form, technical precision, and absolute honesty in materials. Rather than decorative lighting, she selected pieces that served architecture — practical, adjustable, and visually restrained. This Jumo desk lamp appears in her interiors as a purposeful working tool, seamlessly integrated into modern living environments. Executed in chromed metal, the design is defined by its hemispherical pivoting shade, slender angled arm, and weighted circular base. The articulation allows for precise directional lighting, while the reflective chrome surface reinforces its industrial character. When lit, the interior produces a warm glow that contrasts beautifully with the cool, architectural exterior. Subtle signs of age — light surface wear to the chrome and gentle patina inside the shade — add authenticity and underline its vintage character. H 50 x W 22 x D 12 cm
