Geometric Open Bookcase, France 1950s

A distinctive 1950s bookcase defined by its striking geometric composition and quiet architectural presence. The interior is structured with a rhythm of diamond-shaped compartments, creating a sculptural grid that plays beautifully with light and shadow. Made out from wood with a contrasting painted exterior, the piece balances utility and visual impact. The open compartments offer a playful yet orderly way to display books and objects, turning everyday storage into a curated composition. The patina and subtle wear add depth and authenticity, reinforcing its mid-century origin while giving it a warm, lived-in character. Both functional and decorative, this bookcase works equally well as a storage piece or as a statement object in a minimal or eclectic interior. Measurements: H 149 x W 125 x D 20 cm
