Brutalist Oak Asymmetrical Shelving Unit or Bookcase, The Netherlands, 1970s

A Dutch brutalist shelving unit produced in the 1970s, crafted from solid oak. The piece is defined by its open, architectural construction, with vertical supports and horizontal shelves forming a clear structural grid. The design emphasizes joinery and material, with each connection left visible and contributing to the overall composition. The shelves appear as stacked planes, supported by thick uprights, giving the unit a strong, constructed character typical of Dutch brutalist furniture of the period. Finished in a warm, dark-toned oak, the surface highlights the grain and texture of the wood.
